Let me tell you my story...
I discovered a passion for photography when my eldest son was a baby. Inspired to learn, I feverishly studied everything I could, immersing myself in the technical aspects of the craft and qualifying with a Diploma in Professional Photography from the Photography Institute in Auckland. In my free time (at a premium once I’d had my second son!) I immersed myself in the work of other creatives, finding inspiration in the beautiful imagery of highly regarded photographers and artists. However, my real experience, skill and style comes from just being out and about with my camera, happily blazing away. All. The. Time.
So far, my photography career spans 13 years, while the other half of my professional life centres around marketing and communications. Two sets of skills that I feel go hand-in-hand, complementing each other perfectly!
With my marketer's insight, I’m skilled at seeking out the strategy behind your commercial creative brief, before producing and curating a collection of images to cleverly illustrate the messages that are right for your audience.
I love everything about the photographic process – EVERYTHING - from meeting my clients and unlocking their ideas, to scoping out hidden locations, watching the weather forecast for the perfect light and photographic conditions, and getting in front of you, my client, clicking the shutter and capturing a perfect moment in time.
